During your undergraduate studies, you’ll have a number of mentorship opportunities and both simulated and real-world classroom experiences which will prepare you for the classrooms of tomorrow.
Field experiences provide you with an opportunity to perform the duties of a classroom teacher within the classroom setting. The purpose of these experiences is to allow teacher candidates to demonstrate their understanding of the Florida Educator Accomplished Practices and subject area competencies. The Internship in Technology is the culminating experience for teacher candidates in NSU’s Computer Science Education Program.
Among the companies where our students have enjoyed internships include: Broadspire, A Crawford Company and Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida. Such companies as Broadspire, A Crawford Company, St. Lucie Public Schools, and Therapies4Kids have also hired NSU graduates.
Florida participates in the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification Interstate (NASDTEC) Agreement facilitating mobility of Educational Personnel with more than 50 other states and jurisdictions for teacher certification and/or licensure. Graduates who wish to teach outside the state of Florida must contact their state's department of education for information for attaining certification/licensure through reciprocity.
