Accreditation

Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) Accreditation 

The Abraham S. Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice (FCE & SCJ) is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).This accreditation covers initial teacher preparation programs and advanced educator preparation programs at all university locations and online. However, the accreditation does not include individual education courses that the institution offers to P-12 educators for professional development, re-licensure, or other purposes.

In addition, several programs have earned national recognition from CAEP Specialized Professional Associations (SPA) indicating all respective standards have been met.  Please see the list below for specific program information.

Specialized Professional Associations (SPA) Approvals:

  • B.S. Elementary Education with ESOL/Reading Endorsement recognized by the Association for Child Education International (ACEI)
  • B.S. Exceptional Student Education recognized by the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)
  • M.S. Educational Leadership recognized by the Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC) 
  • M.S. Reading Education recognized by the International Literacy Association (ILA)  
  • Ed.S. Educational Leadership recognized by the Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC) 

Florida Department of Education (DOE) Accreditation

The Abraham S. Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice (FCE & SCJ) holds continuing approval from the Florida Department of Education (DOE).  Included in this approval are the following programs:

  • B.S. Elementary Education with ESOL/Reading Endorsement 
  • B.S. Exceptional Student Education wtih ESOL Endorsement 
  • B.S. Secondary Biology Education 
  • B.S. Secondary English Education with ESOL Endorsement
  • B.S. Secondary Math Education

NSU Accreditation

Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC) to award associate’s, baccalaureate, master’s, educational specialist, doctorate, and professional degrees.
