NCATE Accreditation

The College of Education at Nova Southeastern University is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).This accreditation covers initial teacher preparation programs and advanced educator preparation programs at all university locations and online. However, the accreditation does not include individual education courses that the institution offers to P-12 educators for professional development, re-licensure, or other purposes.

SPA (Specialized Professional Associations) Statements

  1. M.S. Educational Leadership SPA Statement (Approved Program in Florida and Nevada)
    The Educational Leadership Program (M.S.) at the College of Education at Nova Southeastern University has achieved National Recognition by the Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC) under the aegis of the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). NCATE is unifying with the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) to become the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) in 2013. The status of National Recognition indicates that the program has met all standards of the Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC) and is a mark of distinction for the program.
  2. M.S. Reading SPA Statement (Approved Program in Florida and Nevada)
    The Reading Education (K-12) Program (M.S.) at the College of Education at Nova Southeastern University has achieved National Recognition by the International Reading Association (IRA) under the aegis of the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). NCATE is unifying with the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) to become the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) in 2013. The status of National Recognition indicates that the program has met all standards of the International Reading Association (IRA) and is a mark of distinction for the program.
  3. Ed.S. Educational Leadership SPA Statement (Approved Program in Florida and Nevada)
    The Educational Leadership Program (Ed.S.) at the College of Education at Nova Southeastern University has achieved National Recognition by the Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC) under the aegis of the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). NCATE is unifying with the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) to become the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) in 2013. The status of National Recognition indicates that the program has met all standards of the Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC) and is a mark of distinction for the program.

NSU Accreditation

Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC) to award associate’s, baccalaureate, master’s, educational specialist, doctorate, and professional degrees.
