Dr. Melissa Noya is an Adjunct Professor at Nova Southeastern University since 2011. She is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Florida. Dr. Noya received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2011 with a specialization in Child Psychology from Carlos Albizu University (CAU) in Miami. She completed her internship at Miami Dade County Department of Human Services and her postdoctoral training at Nova Southeastern University at the Center for Assessment and Intervention. She also holds a Master's degree in Psychology form CAU and a Bachelor in Arts degree from Florida Atlantic University.
Dr. Noya has experience in assessing and providing intervention to children with mood disorders, behavioral problems, developmental disabilities, and learning difficulties in both English and Spanish. She also has experience conducting psycho-educational, developmental, and psychological evaluations. Her clinical and research training was obtained at various recognized sites, including University of Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami's Mailman Center for Child Development, Institute for Child and Family Health, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Mood, Emotions, and Clinical Child Assessment Lab, and the Language Development Lab at Florida Atlantic University. She specializes in a range of evidence based assessments and interventions with children and adults. Dr. Noya has received funding from the National Institute of Mental Health as a Principal Investigator, has published articles in scholarly journals, and presented her research at national conferences. Dr. Noya is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Florida Psychological Association and has served in numerous leadership positions.
