Dr. Adela Beckerman-Fontana is currently the Research Director with Florida Education and Research Laboratory (FERL), a consulting firm based in Gainesville, Florida. She has had extensive experience conducting research and evaluation projects concerning correctional policies, drug courts, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, child welfare, and innovative school programs. She has a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and a Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Albany.
She has taught at the undergraduate and graduate level in numerous locations across the U.S. and in Jamaica in varied settings including military bases and correctional facilities. Prior to becoming a member of the adjunct faculty, she held full time faculty and administrative positions at Nova Southeastern University, Florida Memorial University, Florida International University, the University of Vermont, and Clinton Community College (in upstate New York).
