An academic with over twenty years of experience at the post-secondary level, Dr. Carbone is an administrator and faculty member at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) and serves as the Director of Licensure and Compliance at the College of Education and the School of Criminal Justice. Dr. Carbone works closely with senior administration, faculty, and state regulatory agencies to secure state authorizations and renewals, SACS accreditation matters, and professional licensure for the College. She provides dissertation committee research advisement and support as a dissertation chair or member. Dr. Carbone teaches for the M.S. in Leadership program and has an exemplary track record of successful fellowships, grants and actively presents at national conferences. She holds a Doctorate of Education and a Master of Business Administration degree from NSU and a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York's Fashion Institute of Technology. Outside of her role at NSU, Dr. Carbone is recognized as a certified specialist in adaptive yoga and yoga therapy. She served as an expert advisor for the Yoga Alliance's Standards Review Project for accredited Teacher Training Programs. She was awarded the NSU Faculty Research Development grant to conduct a study on how yoga and meditation can support the health and healing of veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In addition, Dr. Carbone formed a community program and partnership with a local organization that provides yoga therapy to veterans and service members. She spends most of her time in Tennessee with her husband and dog, Renzo, and maintains a regular yoga practice.
