Dissertation Completion Project

Now Accepting Applications!

The Dissertation Completion Project (DCP) is designed to support Doctor of Education students from the Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice (FCESCJ) who have completed all course work at Nova Southeastern University and are at the “All-But-Dissertation” (ABD) phase. The DCP is a highly structured program delivered entirely online that provides students with intensive advising services to assist them through the complexities of the dissertation. Students interested in the DCP program will first need to complete an entrance survey and a transcript evaluation.

Upon entry into the DCP, students are matched with a team of academic professionals who all have extensive experience working with ABD students. This team includes: (a) an academic advisor, (b) a DCP faculty mentor, and (c) a dissertation committee consisting of a Dissertation Chair and a member. Students will be entered in virtual cohorts.

General Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a Doctor of Education student
  • Have completed all course work
  • Must no longer be enrolled
  • Must be in good academic and financial standing

Note: Although a student may meet all the criteria listed above, not all candidates are accepted due to space limitations. Cohorts are admitted for Fall and Winter terms.

How To Apply

If you meet the eligibility criteria and wish to be evaluated for admission to the DCP program, follow these easy steps:

  1. Complete the DCP Entrance Survey
  2. Download and review the DCP Manual .  This document provides details about the program and will probably answer many of your questions.
  3. Complete the DCP Application and email it to fcedcp@nova.edu

We are also exploring a hybrid cohort for our Clearwater campus. If you are interested in joining the cohort, please indicate that in the "Additional Question" section of the survey.

Next Steps

Based on the results of the faculty review of your application and entrance survey, you may be invited to enter one of three tracks*:

  • Concept
  • Proposal
  • Final AD

The tracks are explained in more detail in the DCP Manual.
