Literacy can be a powerful driving force that can lead to positive student learning and effect social change. Nova Southeastern University's Doctor of Education in Reading program will prepare you for leadership and lifelong learning in the field of literacy education. At NSU, you'll gain expertise in the foundations of reading development, current trends and issues in literacy education and assessment, curriculum design and instruction, program evaluation and assessment, and the characteristics of diverse readers in a multimodal world.

With an understanding of both historical and current instructional methods, you’ll apply your skills to accomplish better student outcomes in real classroom environments. You’ll develop experience implementing intervention strategies, identifying reading deficiencies and adding the proper remedial tools. Graduates of this Ed.D. program will be prepared to serve as literacy leaders, researchers, and advocates for all students.
