Our Faculty and Staff

Trotman holds a doctoral degree in mathematics education. She previously worked in the Caribbean as a mathematics educator and an assistant high school principal. During that time, she worked with a regional learning group to harmonize the mathematics curriculum for the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, resulting in the co-authoring of textbooks and teacher guides for the Caribbean Primary Mathematics series.

Trotman joined Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in 2002. She currently works with students from the undergraduate to doctoral level. She serves as counselor and advisor to the Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) Omega Theta chapter, dissertation chair, Mathematics and STEM Education faculty, Honors in Major Symposium judge, and Honors student advisor and mentor. Trotman also served as a program reviewer for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and a Lead Reviewer within the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). She is a scholarship and journal re viewer for the Kappa Delta Pi Educational Forum, a peer-reviewed journal. She serves as a co-chair for the FAMTE Symposium Planning Committee. Trotman received in 2021 the prestigious KDP Lucinda Rose Counselor award.
