Elizabeth M. Aguila, Ph.D.; is currently an assistant professor for the Abraham S. Fischler College of Education & School of Criminal Justice. She teaches courses such as ESED 4550 Methods and Materials for Specific Learning Disabilities and EDUC 2010 Foundations of Education, among others. Before teaching at NSU, she was an adjunct professor at FIU. She was also a full-time high school teacher for Florida Virtual School, where she taught English/Language Arts and helped to launch the district's virtual Teaching Academy. Prior to this, she developed a successful Teaching Academy at Miami Dade County Public Schools that included the direction of an on-campus preschool and a student enrollment of over 500 students. These programs begin to prepare high school students for careers in education. Dr. Aguila has been teaching since 2001 and has taught many subjects and supported many students at different levels.
