The Fischler Academy

An elite teacher preparation program

Nova Southeastern University’s Fischler College of Education has developed a unique program designed to shape aspiring educators into master teachers.

The program, known as The Fischler Academy, incorporates cutting-edge teaching strategies, a mastery-based curriculum, and an active learning environment, culminating in a full-time teaching position.

About the Program

The Fischler Academy is a combined Bachelor’s and Master’s degree program designed for traditional first-time-in-college students who wish to become teacher leaders. The Fischler Academy is an experiential, project-driven, mastery-based program combining cutting-edge teaching pedagogies in a highly personalized learning environment. A maximum of 100 students will be admitted annually into the Fischler Academy.

Admissions

If you think you have what it takes to become a teacher leader, it's easy to get started:

  1. Complete the Premier Programs Application (choose the "Fischler Academy" program).
  2. If you have not already done so, apply for admission to NSU using the Shark Select Application or the Common Application.
  3. Once submitted, the Undergraduate Admissions team will review your applications.
  4. You will be notified regarding your application status, and, if accepted, will asked to attend one of NSU’s "Shark Preview" weekends.

Scholarships & Financial Aid

Fischler Academy students will each receive a $17,000 tuition scholarship. Scholarships will be earned annually by maintaining a 3.0 GPA for the duration of the program along with providing targeted ‘Shark service hours’ throughout the student’s four year experience.
