Martha (Marti) Snyder is the director of faculty professional development in the Learning and Educational Center and a professor in the Abraham S. Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice at Nova Southeastern University (NSU). Marti teaches courses in the Farquhar Honors College and the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine’s (KPCOM) Healthcare Informatics program. Prior to her current appointment, she served on the faculty of the NSU’s College of Computing and Engineering and was awarded Professor of the Year for 2018-2019. She serves on the executive committee of the board of directors for the National Society for Experiential Education (NSEE) and is the 2021 recipient of NSEE’s Michael Steuerman Distinguished Service Award. She has served as Principal Investigator on two President’s Faculty Research and Development Grants (PFRDG) and Co-PI on two grants from the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM). Through her teaching and research, Marti collaborates with people from various disciplines who are interested in using appropriate technology and design to create effective information and learning systems.

Areas of Research

Non-technical aspects of cyber defense such as cyber awareness, education and training; knowledge management and workplace learning; design theory; project management; and learning designs for online, blended, mobile, mixed-reality, and simulations.
