Dr. Herminia Janet Rivera Rodriguez is a Professor at Nova Southeastern University’s Abraham S. Fischler College of Education & School of Criminal Justice. She received her doctorate from The Ohio State University Graduate School of Education.

Dr. Rivera Rodriguez’s academic interest is in practicing culturally relevant pedagogy in the early childhood and elementary classroom. Dr. Rivera has published on the topic of culturally relevant pedagogy and she continues doing research in this area. She also published and participated in several research projects examining other early childhood topics like STEM in the early childhood classroom.

Dr. Rivera Rodriguez has presented early childhood education topics at several local, national, and international conferences. She has over 20 years of experience in teacher education, teaching in early childhood education and elementary education programs at the college level.
