Abraham S. Fischler: A Forward-Thinker

Our school is named for a man with a vision. Dr. Fischler was a major figure in NSU’s history, and his impact on education lives on to this day:

  • He was one of the pioneers in founding Nova Southeastern University, realizing that higher education needed to adapt and overcome the changes occurring in our society.
  • He led the way in what was then called “distance learning;” today, you know it as online education.
  • Right up until his death in 2017, Dr. Fischler remained very active not only in the college that bears his name, but in the overall direction of NSU.
