Dr. Heather Kuhl, Psy.D., LMFT is a Florida Licensed Psychologist (PY 8867) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MT 2695) specializing in conducting psychological and psychoeducational evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults. Aside from conducting psychological evaluations, Dr. Kuhl has extensive experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families, as well as with diverse populations such as veterans and survivors of torture. Clinical expertise includes substance abuse, disruptive behavior, anger management, social skill training, academic problems, family conflict, and mood and anxiety disorders. Dr. Kuhl is the primary clinical therapist in the dual diagnosis program at the Lucida Treatment Center. In addition, Dr. Kuhl is a Certified Equine Assisted Therapist through the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA). At the local non-organization Stable Place, she provides equine assisted therapy for individuals and families presenting with relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, trust issues, substance use, or other life challenges. Furthermore, Dr. Kuhl’s love for horses and psychology inspired research in the area of concussions among competitive equestrian athletes, with publications in the Equestrian Medical Safety Association and Sports Health: A Multidisciplinary Approach. Aside from clinical work, Dr. Kuhl is the Vice President of Give A Buck for Special Equestrians, a local non-profit whose goal is to raise money for equine assisted therapy programs.
