Professional Interests

I enjoy learning. This enjoyment has carried me through obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Florida State and a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Nova Southeastern. I also completed my Doctorate in Education from Nova Southeastern with a Concentration in Organizational Leadership and a Minor in Conflict Resolution. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Addictions Professional. My work experience is just as varied as my educational path. I worked for Macy’s in management and buying for 13 years before pursuing my childhood dream of being a psychotherapist. After obtaining my Master’s Degree I moved into the nonprofit world. As a therapist and clinical director, I got an opportunity to work with juveniles with substance abuse issues, women with eating disorders, adult addicts in a detox facility, and families involved in the foster care system. Currently, I am the Director of Community Relations with ChildNet-the community based care lead agency for the foster care system in Broward County. My responsibilities range from grant writing, program development, major donors, and event planning.

I grew up in the South Florida area. I have a 25 year old son, a 13 year old daughter, twin 13 year old stepsons, 2 dogs, a bird, a turtle, and lots of fish. If that sentence does not make you tired-you must be an overachiever like me!
