received the Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Florida in 1985. He has been associated with AP Physics since 1987, working as an AP Physics Reader (1987-1994, 2012-2013), Table Leader (1995-1998), and Chief Reader (1999-2005). He wrote the first AP Lab Manual in 2003, and has contributed to the current inquiry-based lab activities manual for Physics 1 and Physics 2. He has offered one-day AP workshops since 1993, and week-long AP Summer Institutes since 2002. He is a professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Beloit College, WI, where he has been a member of the faculty since 1990.
