Nova Southeastern University's Abraham S. Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice, in cooperation with the College Board, is pleased to offer the Summer Institute for teachers of Advanced Placement, a quality program with leading instructors in their disciplines.

All workshops are designed to benefit both new AP teachers (who will be teaching AP courses for the first time during the 2019-2020 school year), or those who have been teaching AP courses for 1 to 3 years.

Below is some important information to help you make the most out of your workshop experience:

The 2019 AP Summer Institute will be held at NSU's Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus, located at 3301 College Avenue, Davie, FL. 33314.  Headquarters for NSU's APSI will be the Carl DeSantis Building (home to NSU's College of Business & Entrepreneurship). Workshops begin at 8:00 am and end at 4:30 pm each day, Monday through Thursday.

Free parking for APSI attendees (participants) will be located on the second floor and above in the NSU ASLRITC parking garage located next to the Carl DeSantis Building. A parking pass will be emailed to you the week prior to your APSI session to be used during your attendance at the APSI and must be displayed on the dashboard of your car. Further instructions and directions to the parking garage will be included on the pass.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT park on the ground floor of the parking garage, you will be charged.

APSI is a 4-day professional development workshop.  You should come prepared to learn and collaborate with other teachers in your subject area.  Course materials that we receive from the consultants for your specific workshop will be available on the APSI website for you to download and review.  It is recommended that you bring with you a laptop or tablet.

Wear comfortable clothing and bring along a light jacket or sweater since all university facilities are air conditioned.  Please keep in mind that the weather can be very unpredictable, especially in the summer, so we suggest that you bring an umbrella.

Registration for the APSI implies that you have agreed to be present and attend all four days of the workshop.
