The Gifted Education Endorsement program at the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Fischler College of Education is designed for practicing educators with teacher certification who are working with gifted children in Florida. This teacher endorsement program offers academic components that cover the nature and needs of gifted children as well as address educational techniques and creative development of gifted learners. The on-site and online courses in the program meet the Florida Department of Education’s requirements for a teaching endorsement in gifted education and can only be added to a current exceptional student education certificate.
- Completed admission application packet, including a $50 nonrefundable application fee made payable to Nova Southeastern University
- Official transcript indicating conferral of a bachelor’s degree by a regionally accredited institution (2.5 minimum cumulative grade point average required)
- Official transcripts from all previously attended postsecondary institutions
- Proof of valid teaching certificate

Coursework for the Gifted Education Endorsement program at NSU’s Fischler College of Education is available online and at many of the NSU Campuses, with a main campus in South Florida. The online delivery option allows students to receive and submit coursework and interact with participants and professors via the Internet. The site-based delivery option allows students to take classes in the evenings or on weekends at locations near their homes. The distance education delivery option allows busy professionals to complete the endorsement program in gifted education without having to leave their jobs or travel long distances. Courses in the Gifted Education Endorsement program meet Florida Department of Education requirements for an endorsement in gifted education, and can only be added to a current teaching certificate in academic class coverage. It is the responsibility of the student to contact his or her state department of education regarding certification, recertification, and/or endorsement requirements.
